Wild turkeys are taking over Minnesota, it seems! We had a young female here the winter before last who hung around the house here all winter. It turns out she was also hanging around our neighbors place down the road, and they even named her Sally. She would roost high up in the white pines every night, and in the morning come thundering down like a helicopter.

Deb: I know what you mean. I've lived in MN all my life, and until just a few years ago I had never seen a wild turkey. Last year we had a mother with NINE chicks (if that's what you call them). I would come home from work and find them all lazing around in the sunny back yard. Amazing.
