I took off Friday, 5/27 and got all the vegetable planted. :-) It's really amazing how long it all takes.
Here's the upper garden, all planted and fenced.
And below is the lower garden. (Sorry these are so dark - I tend to take the pictures in the early morning before I go to work.) The back two beds - with the bamboo structures - are all Straight Eight cucumbers. In the front left bed is Bush Sugar Baby watermelon, and in the front right bed is Black Beauty zucchini. Both the Straight 8 and Black Beauty are my tried and true varieties - I've grown both the last 3-4 years. The watermelon is new for me, though - I'm really looking forward to it. There are only 1-2 melons per vine, so it may not be worth the space, but the vines are supposed to only be 3 feet long, so maybe it will work. What I really want to make is watermelon pickles. We'll see . . . .
All that's left to do in the raised beds is plant a few annuals for color. Then it's time to turn my attention to the flower beds. More to come this week!
